  • Prohibition in Constitution

    Kansas is the first state to have prohibition in their constitution
  • Volstead Act

    The United States government passes the Volstead Act. This is the first step to the 18th amendment. This bans all alcohol.
  • 18th Amendment

    This amendment is supported by 36 states. It bans all alcohol from being drunk, transported and selling.
  • The results of the Volstead

    People created the Black market so they are still able to get alcohol and anything that is considered illegal. This starts a rise in the crime rate.
  • Volstead Act #2

    The government passes this act and the Whole United States has to follow it starting in January.
  • Al Capone

    There is a gang that gets started in Chicago. The Government starts working to try and ban this gang.
  • Hoover

    Herbert Hoover talks to the president and tries to convince him to end the Prohibition Act. He brought up a point that if it was abolished the cries rates would drop back down and be normal again.
  • New amendment

    The government tries to work to get a new amendment for the constitution to end Prohibition.
  • Cullen Harrison Act

    This act was passed by Roosevelt. Now some alcoholic drinks are allowed.
  • Prohibition End

    The 21 amendment ends the Prohibition Era.
