    Franklin D Roosevelt served the standard 2 terms in office. After that people were unsure whether or not he was going to run again. Because of his popularity, how many good things he did in his first 2 terms, and the state of war that the world was in, he was reelected for not only a third time but a fourth as well, becoming the only president to even serve a third term. Unfortunately, he was assassinated almost 3 months into his fourth term.

As Dewey's campained he brought up Roosevelt's age and the vision of an Ammendment that limited a presidents time in office. While the popular vote was nearly 50/50 Roosevelt still won in a landslide through the electoral college.
