Japan Surrendered to the Allies
Description: Japan had surrendered to the Allies after the usage of the atomic bomb, that left Japan with a devastating amont of damage. Military: Japan had suffered losses in key battles such as the battle of Okinawa. That’s allowed the Allied forces to slowly close on Japan allowing them to use the atomic bomb that left Japanese cities in devastating state. This also left Japan, fairly weak, allowing the Soviet Union to declare on them. This event also ended World War II. -

Description: after Kennedy‘s assassination, Lyndon B. Johnson took over presidency. He approached with caution at first, but his goal was to keep the US away from communism Political: A year into Johnson’s presidency two US destroyers had been attacked. Johnson had insisted that these attacks were unprovoked. He then would order American forces to attack north view ships and enable facilities. Description: With North Vietnamese troops outside Saigon the US evacuated the remaining Americans in the city. Later on that day, North Vietnamese had captured Saigon. Vietnam Veterans Memorial dedicated
Description: on November 11, 1982 the memorial was dedicated in Washington DC. It honored the sacrifices made by the United States soldiers during the Vietnam war. This had symbolized a nation’s involvement with the conflict. Political: this memorial was a dedication to those that have been killed M.I.A. It was to show the relation between the United States and the Vietnam war. This event was political due to its relation between the United States and the affairs with the conflict in Vietnam.
