    Huni becomes pharaoh and begins construction of the Maidum step pyramid, which was finished by his successor, Sneferu.

    Nebhepetre Mentuhotep II wins the civil war, reunites Egypt, makes Thebes the capital of all Egypt, establishes the 11th dynasty and builds the mortuary complex of Deir el Bahri.

    Tutankhamun's Death

    Tutankhamun dies early at age 19 possibly due to congenital flaws, results of constant inbreeding among the royal family. He is consequently buried in the Valley of the Kings.

    Tantamani's Retreat

    Tantamani, a pharaoh of the Nubian (25th) Dynasty of Egypt, retreats to Napata, giving up his attempt to conquer Lower Egypt

    Nebuchadnezzar II leads the Babylonians to conquer Carchemish and defeat the Egyptian army. His father, Nabopolassar, passes away that year, leaving him the throne.
