    This was a relief effort during the First New Deal. They employed two million young unmarried men for public work projects and paid their families monthly salaries.

    This was a relief effort during the First New Deal. The government provided funds for soup kitchens and other resources for the homeless and jobless.
  • The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)

    This was a relief effort in the First New Deal. They hired thousands of people in the Tennessee Valley to build dams, operate electric power plants, control flooding and erosion, and manufacture fertilizer. Aside from jobs, it also provided power, more specifically cheap power, to the South.

    A First New Deal act created to regulate the stock market and prevent another crash. It regulated securities exchanges and ensured honest dealing.

    This was part of the Second new deal. Congress gave $5 billion to employ people that build 850 airports, 651k miles of road, and 110k libraries, schools, and hospitals. This was mainly for relief.

    Second New Deal act that provided federal loans for electrical systems in rural areas. Its main purpose was to bring electricity to isolated rural communities. This was reform.
  • National Labor Relations (Wagner) Act

    National Labor Relations (Wagner) Act

    This was a reform effort during the Second New Deal. Replacing the previously declared unconstitutional National Industrial Recovery Act, the Wagner Act guaranteed a worker's right to join a union and a union's right to bargain collectively.
  • Social Security Act (SSA)

    A Second New Deal Program that created programs for old-age benefits, unemployment compensation, and aid to vulnerable people like the blind, dependent children, and the disabled. Basically money was taken out of people's paychecks and then given back when they were retired. It was mostly reform.
  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

    A Second New Deal act that established federal minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping, and child labor standards. This was mostly for reform.
