The man was losing it, between the death of Lenore and the raven he was wondering if the raven was a prophet or a devil. The raven answered with "Nevermore". -
The man asked the raven if he will ever see Lenore again, and the raven answered with "Nevermore". -
He walked to the door, and opened it, but there was no one there. -
Late at night, a man was almost asleep while reading a book, when somebody knocked on his door. -
The man was sad because he was thinking of a person named Lenore. -
He got scared because a curtain rustled and he stood up to answer the door. -
He stood there in the doorway, and whispered Lenore’s name. -
He flung open the shutter, and a raven flew in and sat above the door. -
He heard the tapping again, but it was louder and at his window, he walked over to the window sill. -
The man smiled and asked the raven why it came from the night’s dark shore, and the raven answered with ‘Nevermore’. -
The man was surprised that the raven had spoken to him. -
The man said the the bird would leave him, just like others before the raven and the raven answered with "Nevermore". -
The man sat there realizing the Lenore would never sit by him again. -
The man thought that the heavens had sent him the raven to help him forget his grief for Lenore, so he said that to the raven and it said "Nevermore". -
The man pulled up a chair and continued to ponder what the bird meant. -
The man was thinking that the bird was repeating what its old owner had said, but then he started to think about what the raven could mean by Nevermore. -
The man yelled at the crow to leave, and the raven said "Nevermore". -
The raven never left, it is still above the door.
