At my old Catholic school, the first grade class took turns individually reading the stations of the cross in front of the whole school during mass. I remember reading both the fifth and sixth stations.

I remember every time my class was taken to the library, I'd always pick out a Magic Tree House book and either read most of it or finish it that same day.

At a book fair, I picked up a book titled "Smile," and after flipping through the pages, I realized I was hooked and wanted to buy the book. By the end of the school year I had read multiple books from the same author.

I remember my teacher let the class pick books to keep as our independent reading books. I picked an "A Series of Unfortunate Events" book since I found them interesting after listening to my teacher read one out loud to the class. That whole school year I read some of the book series.

I remember really liking the movie series Harry Potter. I decided to spend almost this whole school year reading some of the book series during independent reading time.

I remember over the summer and during this school year I read the book "Everything, Everything" by Nicola Yoon. I was completely obsessed with this book and read it multiple times throughout my seventh grade year and used it as my independent reading book the following school year.

This school year I was still obsessed with Nicola Yoon's writing. But I remember reading "Everything, Everything" eventually got boring, so I switched to another one of her books, "The Sun is Also a Star." I also loved this book.

During this school year, I read many books for my English class, one of my favorites I read was "The Catcher in the Rye." It was an easy read and I remember taking my time to actually focus on the themes, topics, and characters introduced.
