Scottsboro boys
the boys were a group of men riding a train looking for work when they got into an altercation with a group of white men and ended up kicking them off the train. When word got out a group of whites formed to stop then when the train staopped but instead two white girls that were on the train also were scared of getting in trouble so they acused the boys and started a long trial in between them. -
Jackie Robinson Breaks the Color Barrier
Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in sports when he became the first African American in baseball. -
Brown vs. Board of Education
The Brown vs. Board of Education was when the Supreme Court ruled that it was unconstitutional for there to be segregation in schools. -
Little rock nine
The Little Rock Nine group was a young, brave group of blacks who helped fight against segregation in schools by being some of the very first to go to an all white school, even though they were racially discriminated against on their way to school, at school, and after school. -
The murder of emmett till
The death of emmit till was a racially movtivated murder after the young emmit whistled at a white woman and she told people that the boy SA her. Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam then prodcied to take the boy from the house he was staying in and bruitally murder him. They never did a single second in prison for there actions. -
Montgomery Bus Boycott
African Americans boycotted segregation on buses in Montgomery Alabama causing them to lose tons of money until they ended the segragtion. -
Ruby Bridges
Ruby Bridges was the first African American to go to a white school, "ending" segregation in schools. She faced many problems just trying to go to school so much so that she had military officers escorting her to school. -

The civil rights act of 1964 was the act that outlawed discrimination of somone due to their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin in the United States. -

The black panthers were blacks wanting to stand up and fight for Black nationalism, socialism, and armed self-defense, particularly against police brutality. -

On the 21st of February in 1965, Malcolm X was assassinated by Mujahid Abdul Halim, Muhammad A. Aziz and Khalil Islam. -
