"Join or Die"
The purpose of this Political Cartoon was to urge the colonies in America to join forces against a common threat. The snake displays 8 of the 13 colonies on a snake. The snake is fully cut through into 8 pieces which symbolizes how divided the colonies would be if they didn't work together. Additionally, it is a visual demonstration of how there is strength in numbers as a whole snake is stronger than part of a snake. -
