Creation of the town
1960s: Valdencín is planned as part of the National Institute of Colonization's plans to develop irrigated land in the Alagón River plains.
1964-1966: The town is built in three phases, with a total of approximately 130 homes.
1967: Plots are drawn among the applicant families; the first families begin to move in. -
Population growth
1967: Arrival of the first 25 families (approximately 100-150 initial inhabitants).
1980s: Population increases with the consolidation of basic services, reaching around 300 inhabitants.
2015: Population stabilized at 382 inhabitants.
2025: Current population estimated to be similar to that of 2015, due to the trend of aging and migration to urban areas. -
Establishment and consolidation
1968: Completion of the houses and official handover to the settlers. Houses with space for barns and stables are fitted out.
1973: Construction of agricultural pavilions on the assigned plots. -
Community development
The town's basic infrastructure is improved, such as access to drinking water and the electricity grid.
Community services such as the school and the parish church, built in 1969 under the patronage of Saint Teresa, are growing. -
Modernization
Renovation of public facilities and better access to basic services.
Improvements in road connectivity with nearby municipalities such as Torrejoncillo. -

2015: Estimated population of 382 inhabitants.
Development of more modern agricultural activities, focused on irrigated crops.
Strengthening of local cultural identity, with community events and traditions.
