Hawk learned how to complete many new tasks which gave him a sense of industry. -This stage is about building confidence and a sense of competence, success leads to pride and motivation, while failure leads to feelings of inferiority and low self-esteem.
  • Identity vs. Role Confusion

    Identity vs. Role Confusion

    • Hawk has been greatly supported by his friends and peers to explore different roles like being basketball captain and running his boat which allowed him to have a strong sense of identity and avoid role confusion.
    • This stage is all about self-discovery, learning who you are and how you want to contribute to the world. Success leads to a strong identity; failure leads to confusion about one’s role and purpose.
  • Intimacy vs Isolation

    Intimacy vs Isolation

    • Hawk has been in a 3-year relationship with his girlfriend and it has allowed him to be vulnerable and committed.
    • This stage is about building close connections, success leads to love and companionship, while failure can result in loneliness and isolation.
