AI has always been used to help make videos games feel more real. Examples or AI in videos game would be, playing against a robot in card games, MPC's in roleplaying games, AI controlled enemy's, and more. -

In 1983 people had began to grow tired of video games, some think this is mostly thanks to the overflow of bad games being released. One game that many think was responsible for people losing hope on video games is "E.T. The Extra Terrestrial". This lead to the video market crashing, and no one cared about games for a while.

Only two years after the crash of video games, came the first Nintendo console. This console was the first 8-bit console, and it made the market for video games skyrocket back up, and eventually Sega came out with the first 16- bit console. The next few years became a competition between the two on who could make the better game.

In 1989, the Gameboy became the first portable console. Because of the changeable cartridge and portable size, the Gameboy sold very fast. To this day the Gameboy is still the 3rd best selling console of all time. -
The first real mobile game was a version of Tetris. The mobile gaming industry didn't really start until 1997, when Snake came out. -
For a long while the two consoles, Sega and Nintendo were the only Consoles really on the market. Some consoles companys tried to make one but were defeated easily and gave up on making consoles. This was true until Playstation was made. Sony originally came to Nintendo wanting the console to be the "Super Nintendo" but was struck down by the company. Sony instead decided to make it's own console, and the Playstation was born.
