    Brigadier General (BG) John Buford discover General Lee's army moving on Gettysburg, in turn BG John Buford dismounted his Calvary on Seminary and Herr Ridge to intercept and obtain the higher ground.

    The Shot That Changed The World
    Not shortly after discovering Lee's Army they sent messengers to Washington D.C. Soon afterwards General Ewell was informed of movement made by the calvary, but was believed to only be Milita. In turn Ewell dicieded tohave a small portion of his army to attack against General Lee's orders.

    Towards the end of the day the Union troops started pouring into Gettysburg and then set up in a fishhook formation along the ridge lines, They kept these positions for the rest of the battle and being able to hold the high ground is what gave them the advantage.

    Since the Confederate Army's Calvary was away and no where to be found the Confederate army was in the dark and could not teel what the acual force it was that they were going up against. In relation the Union Calvay was changing position constantly on Herr and Seminary Ridge. In doing so the Confederate commanders believed that the dismounted Calvary was a much larger force than it acualy was.

    The Cause of the Losses
    Many of the reasons that the Confederates had lost so many people was that the Union troops were entrenched in the Rocky hills and that the Union troops had cannons positioned on the incoming troops. The union troops were also armed with canister shot and Remington Repeaters where the calvary was sent to help.

    The Confederate troops moral had dropped drasticly after this day because the Confederate army had lost most of its field comanders and they had lost thousands of thier troops on both ends of the Hook.

    The Confederate army had made a fatale mistake the next day that leads up to thier Calvary not being there once again. General Lee made a choice of attacking the eges of the fishhook of the Union line which were reinforced the most. They were at such a high angle that the Confederate troops moving up were so tired when they finaly engaged thier enemy ( The Union ) that they were to tired to put up a good fight.

    The Third Period Game Changer
    In Lee's plan he would have his army's artillery bombard the dead center of the Union lines. Then after they used up most of thier amo they would move the entire mass of thier army foward three miles through open field under fire, and haveing to menuver around or over the picket fences. This charge was led by General Pickett, hense the name Picketts charge.
  • The Final Cumbers

    The Final Cumbers
    An average of 15,000 troops were to move up during Pickett's charge. Almost all of the troops involve became statistics. Pickett's own division was completely wiped out.

    On day three Lee had developed a finale attack plan that would be a game ender for the Union or the Confederates. This plan and final assult is what shaped the rest of the war and the world.
