  • Gold Rush

    Gold Rush
    People migrating to California due to the discovery of a rush of gold. The rush bloomed minors to dig for gold and brought in people from all over the states. It impacted Californias population and increased its demands on valuable materials.
  • Transcontinental railroads

    Transcontinental railroads
    A railroad that crosses the entire continent while connecting the two sides. It allowed easier transportation of goods and quicker travel. It created more work and challenged people to build around harsh environments.
  • Congress passes Civil Right Act

    Congress passes Civil Right Act
    Its ultimate goal was to unify others regardless of sex, race, religion, and color. It is considered one of the most impactful and significant actions to take notice of the discriminations between people. It opened up potential opportunities for anyone to vote, anyone to get a job, and anyone to an education.

    Great Railroad strike
    A cause that began with a wage cut that angered workers of the railroad. It was the beginning to the spread of many workers retaliating in violence for a change. The concept of strikes would evolve and spread to other areas of the state.

    A peaceful rally held in Chicago ending in disaster. The rally involved police men and those who were protesting against harsh working hours and conditions. Suddenly a random person in the crowd threw a bomb resulting in a riot which lead to the casualties of citizens and cops.

    Homestead Steel Strike
    The spread of wage cuts hit laborers of Pennsylvania on 1892. This caused many angry workers to form a group of people to have a strike. Violent actions surged between the workers and the industry which lead to some workers being blacklisted. The events ended in the union defeated but blacklisted workers struggling to find jobs.

    A nation wide controversy between wage cut workers and Pullman Palace Car Company. Organized laborers boycotted and formed strikes against the working conditions resulting in casualties and fired workers.

    Spanish American War
    Spain vs the United States. War between territories started due to the USS Maine being sunk. The war ending with the Treaty of Paris. The Treaty of Paris concluded that Spain gave up Cuba, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines to the United States.

    NAACP stands for National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. It was formed to fight against those who were violent toward people of color. It was a collective group of people who fought for equal rights, education, and employment for all races. To this day it is recognized as the largest civil rights organization and is continuing to fight the injustices of those rights.

    Roosevelt fund progressive party which paved a road for American politics. He had a goal to cancel business trust and large corporations.

    A global even that involved a conflict between the Allied Powers and Central Powers.

    The treaty ended World War 1. It had Germany pay for billions of damages during the war and limited their army and navy.

    A movement that began after the Civlil War. A collective group of women fought for their independence and for their right to vote. The wave of the Progressive era supported the uprising movement for women of America. It was officially part of the United States Constitution under the Nineteenth Amendment.

    Stock market crash- Great Depression
    A crash of the stock market occurred at Wall Street. An event known as Black Thursday wiped away a lot of the stock. This plummeted which effected the economic state of Wall Street which lead to shortages slowly resulted into the Great Depression.

    The deadliest war between nations. A global event that triggered the advancements in technologies. The conflict that involved the Axis and Allied powers. It resulted in 50-85 million deaths.
  • Pearl Harbor

    A United States naval base located in Hawaii was attacked by Japan. The result of the events convinced the United states to enter into the second World War and War on Japan.
  • D Day

    A critical moment that occurred during WWII. The event revolved around an invasion of airborne attack on the beaches of France. The events confirmed the official position for the Allies to enter Nazi land.
  • WWII ends

    The atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki dropped from the US ultimately ended WWII. Germany surrenders which ends the long battle of nations. Unfortunately resulting in many deaths and casualties.
  • JFK assassination

    President JFK was assassinated in a moving vehicle. It was a monumental moment for live television as world figure to be assassinated to millions and traumatized many. It affected many social and political changes. It allowed other nations to view weakness in the US
