Ellis island officially opened for immigrants to begin coming to America in 1892, one of the first people to come though Ellis island was Annie Moore, and 17 year old from Ireland who was treated more like a celebrity than a person looking for a new start. -
Angel island, often called Ellis of the west opened in 1910 and primarily saw Chinese and Japanese immigrants, Angel island was much less forgiving than Ellis island.
