The development of steam powered engines guided to to the creation of steamships and railways, which revolutionized travel by making it faster, more reliable, accessible, to more people. Since the railways expanded quickly, linking rural areas and cities this boosted commerce and trade, which encouraged migration and tourism. This also facilitated the movement of goods.
