Emmett Till a 14 year old visiting his family in Mississippi was brutally lynched and murdered. the media coverage of this event triggered many youth at the time to join the equal rights movement out of fear of being next. After the trial the acquitting of Emmett´s murderers Bryant and Milan Many in the African American Community became enraged at the fact that these men who for a fact killed Emmett can just get away with it because their white enlightened many. -
Creation Of The Montgomery Improvement Association
The Montgomery Improvement Association began as a group for helping to organize civil rights movement.
its board of directors included several famous civil rights activist such as Rosa parks and Martin Luther king jr. One of the services they specialized in was the carpooling they arranged for the boycott of busses during the 50's. When people began to boycott in mass the MIA began to arrange drivers to help families boycott without extra living costs. -
Founding Of The Southern Christian Leadership Conference
After The Success with Founding The Mia Martin Luther King Jr and Some Other founding Members wanted to expand their reach so with the support of several churches across the south they founded the Southern Christian leadership Conference. One of the primary locations it targeted were schools Especially ones like St. Augustine due to its extremely prevalent segregation and racist atmosphere. The organization even played a notable role on the famous march on Washington Dc. -
Civil Rights Act Of 1957
Presented by president Eisenhower this act created the civil rights portion of the justice department and gave prosecutors the authority to look into voting interference laws such as the poll taxes this was also the first civil rights law since the reconstruction after the civil war it did pass congress but was later weakened by democrats at the time. -

In the case The Governor of Arkansas resisted the federally mandated order to desegregate schools however in court a higher court decided to reverse the request and federal troops were sent to help with the mobs that would form at the school entrance.
The reason it was asked to be suspended is the fact that the Legislature didn't want to desegregate and the fact of hateful mobs disrupting the school's educational programs. -
