  • Taking Prereqs for Medical School

Took a biopsychology class, and it sparked something in me. I decided to explore more science classes and found a new appreciation for it. Since I enjoyed helping people and hadn't chosen a career path, I decided to pursue medicine and started taking the prereqs.

Working as a Scribe in Urgent Care

Saw what it's like to be a doctor. Learned a lot and was a great experience seeing all the physical exams, x-rays, labs, and prescriptions. Also got to see some funny ICD codes every once in a while.
  • MCAT and Applications

    MCAT and Applications

Took the longest exam of my life, a whopping 7 hours. After I got that out of the way, I started getting my primary application ready to apply to med school.
  • Began Working as a Caregiver

I found to really enjoy spending more time with patients and providing direct care. This led me to start second guessing my decision to pursue medical school and whether it was the right path for me. So I put a pause on sending out my applications and gave myself a year to decide.
  • COVID

COVID hit and it hit hard. It made me reconsider my career path as I was over healthcare. Decided to pursue tech since jobs could be remote.
