Language is something I would say is a good communicator for people to better understand others and their surroundings. -
The definition of literacy is a way of not just understanding language but the way of getting it out for example writing or reading. -
My love for children books started this year my first year in the school system working. -
During this year I learned my love for Dr Seuss. Even doing research on this author and hearing tons of rumors I still love his books with all the rhyming and made up nonsense. My classroom at the time was decorated in all Dr Seuss theme. -
After loving Dr Seuss so much i did not think finding another author or books would be possible. That is until I started reading the The Little Old Lady who swallowed....... books. Reading them to my students and getting them to engage with me is so rewarding. -
I worked for a long time in a self contained classroom so i did not get a lot of academic learnings. During this year I got very familiar with Foundations in the classroom. Learning foundations right along with the children was an eye opener on different ways it may help them with their language and literacy skills. -
This year with a new job I have been introduced to all new readings that are super important such as IEPS, 504 plans, BIPS and many more
