  • Life Expectancy in 1900

Life expectancy in the 1900s was 47 years old which was very low at the time. It has come a long way from then and we have almost doubled that since then. This changed the need for social work because the idea of this was merely a thought or idea being introduced to the world of bettering people and our communities. Many of who did not live to see old age were going through many historical changing events.
  • Life Expectancy in 1950

The life expectancy in 1950 was at 68 years old and was a huge jump in live lived from 50 years ago and had also brought huge historical timelines and events from then. • Life Expectancy of When I Was Born

The life expectancy when I was born in 2002 was 77 years old and was about the average around the world at the time. This changed the need for social work because of how much more important counseling and therapy was becoming and how much more common it was to see social work and services being involved in family and community lives during this period. Many people had already seen old age by now and it was way more common to see elder people compared to the 1900s.
  • Life Expectancy of The Present

The life expectancy in the present right now is 79 years old which is lower than most developed countries in the world right now. This has changed the need for social work since now their aim is too make sure that communities and the less fortunate are able to live happily in peacefully in todays world. Elder people are seen a lot nowadays and social services play a role in their lives as well by allowing them to be apart of striving for a peaceful community.
