Mt saint helens
Mt. St. Helens, located in the cascade region of southwest Washington, erupts on May 18, 1980 and kills 57 people and obliterated 210 square miles of wilderness. Rising magma from previous eruptions caused fissures that made a big bulge in the side of the mountain. A 5.1 earthquake then caused a landslide and then the eruption came with heat of over 600 degrees F at 300 miles per hour making mudflows and floods over the valley.
