In 1951 Television was invented and combined the characteristics of the radio and news. Things like presidential debates began to be broadcasted on television. -

In the 1980s cable was invented. It started the golden age of television, now television wasn’t just a way of getting news, but also entertainment. -
Social media
In early 2000s social media gained popularity. It was similar to television, a way of consuming news and entertainment. Along with that it was a way for people to communicate with one another. -
Obama used social media for presidential race
With the rise of social media, it came into politics. During the 2008 presidential election Obama used it to his advantage to campaign for himself. -
Citizen journalism
Citizen journalism became more popular in the 2010s with the advancement of phones. With new technology people could photograph and record things on their phones and share information quickly. -
Soft news
In the 2010s, “soft news” became popular. It was a way of presenting news in an approachable manner, it made people more aware and observant to the news when they received it that way.
