    The Western Schism

    The Western Schism was an event that caused confusion and division within the Catholic church, causing there to be two popes and even a third at one point. There was also mass confusion as to whether kings or popes should have power. Finally, an official pope was elected, ending the Western Schism.

    The Fall of Constantinople happened as a result of the Ottoman Empire battling them and surrounding their walls for 55 days.

    The beginning of the Renaissance marks the beginning of the early stages of the end of the Middle Ages. This was marked by various events like the fall of Constantinople, the concept of humanism gaining popularity and the discovery of new continents.
