I choose this book, because I was reading a lot of books by NZ authors and I had heard that this had been made into a tv series.
-
I am choosing to read this book again. It is the sequel to the Power of One and I haven't read it for a few years. I found myself describing it to someone as not being that good...we shall see.
-
Didn't really think that much f this book. Supernatural, but not with great explanation. Bit dissapointed to tell you the truth.
-
Well, this book was a lot better than i remembored (though still not as good as The Power of One). The character of Tandia is interesting, but for me the important part of this book is the continuing story of Peekay.
-
I choose this because it is a book I have known about for a while and realy thought i should get around to reading it. Also I am trying to read as many works by New Zealand authors as I can.
-
Wow, what a dissapointment. This is the second book by Mahy that has left me cold. I know it is one of her older books, but it was very annoying at the end.
-
Picked this up in the lIbrary...it looked interesting (plus books 2,3 & 4 were with it).
-
Intrigue, mystery and a story that clearly is going to get weirder. Good book, though it felt like it could'vebeen longer.
-
This is the second book and at first i was confused, until i realised that the author has changed characters in terms of who is telling the story (it is in 1st person). More action than thesecond book.
-
Picked this up straight after finishing book 2.
-
Again, the autjor has switched the storytellong perspective, so now each of the three main characters have been the focal point. It is a bit hard to get your head around this at first, but ultimately makes the book more interesting.
I also finished this book today. -
Onto the last of the books I have (there will be 6 in the series, so I will be hanging out for books 5 & 6-probably re-read books 1-4)
-
What will i do now! I really want to found out what happens next, but i don't think book 5 is out yet! Arghh the agony of series books (great series though!)
-
An old favourite. I have read this numerous times and thought it was a good time for a revisit.
-
Still good. I love Rocky the dog. Koontz writes a great novel.
-
I choose this book thinking i need to broaden my reading to suit some of the tastes of the girls in my class.
-
Surprisingly good. I expected it to be a bit shallow, but it had some surprisingly good plot twists. Recommended for both girls and boys.
-
This looked and sounded interesting so I thought i would give it a try.
-
Dissappointment!!!!! I will never read Mahy again. 3 books of hers I have read lately and all of them pretty average!
-
I picked this book because i am aware of the history behind the sinking of the Wahine and wanted to see how Hill would make a good story out of it.
-
A good read. Covered the events of the sinkingand the terror that the escaping pasengers felt as they struggled to survive terrible storms in the Wellington harbour.
-
I grabbed this book because the blurb seemed interesting.
-
Slightly odd book...good, but odd. Mainly the main character is a bit odd. Still, some goood action and worth a read if you are looking for something a little different.
-
A great book thT I have read before many years ago. I saw it in the Morrinsville Library and had to get it.
-
I really enjoyed reading this again. After reading it i went and watched the DVD (not as good). It is an adults book, but well worth reading. (note it is a horrer and has a LOT of bad language in it)
-
Got this at Morrinsville Library. I liked the title and cover.
-
Started well, then got a bit slow, then just when i was thinking i wasn't enjoying this book wham! It got really interesting. Worth a read.
-
I have been waiting ages to get this book. I read the first book Gone, last year and it was great.
-
I just couldn't put it down! Luckily for me as soon as Ifinished it I had book 3 (Plauge) to go on with. This series is fantastic. I really enjoy the terrible odds stacked up against the characters. Drake is a great evil character...you just want him to die!!!!
-
put down Hunger and went straight into reading this (not getting much else done at the moment!). This story starts you wondering just how many kids will be left alive at the end of this saga.
-
I have just finished this. Iwill start the next book tomorrow and I have seen the 5th book in the shops. What can I say, better than the Hunger Games...(maybe?)
-
I am really excited about reading this book, as I have just finished books 2 & 3 in the series.
-
Wow! This series is soo cool. I am going to have to go and buy the 5th book, which has just been released. if you like books with action, tension, mystery, romance, violence...then this is the series for you. Remember book 1 is called Gone
-
I am so excited by this series of books. This book had really gripping content and is still as riviting as the first book. I cannpt wait to get the next book. My favourite series this year.
