    Was the closing of all banks nationwide. This was done to stop the bank run and help end the Great Depression.

    Took in young unemployed men to work. They created reservoirs and bridges, planted trees and did road reconstruction. Each got paid $30 a month and up to $25 went back to the families

    The AAA was created in the First new deal in order to regulate farming. This would be done through the government by subsidizing farmers and restore the purchasing powers back to World War 1 levels.

    Meant to bring jobs and electricity to the south. This was done by getting unemployed men to build dams in order to create hydroelectricity.

    This was to create indutrial recovery during the Great Depression. It created cooperation between the government and businesses. Created minimum wage and maximum working hours

    Meant to employ unemployed people until the economy recovered. They built roads, hospitals, and airports
  • Wagner Act (2nd New Deal)

    Guaranteed the right to join or form a union. Before it would have been shut down but this protected the worker's rights.
  • Social Security Act (2nd New Deal)

    Social Security Act (2nd New Deal)

    This act created a fund for old age, disabilities, and unemployment compensation. It was funded by a payroll tax on workers and their employers. It was administered by the SSA by the state federal cooperation.
  • Packing Plan (Second New Deal)

    This act was created to add more justices to the Supreme Court. It was raised from 9 to 15 justices.
  • Fair Labor Standards Act (2nd New Deal)

    Fair Labor Standards Act (2nd New Deal)

    Law that established minimum wage and overtime pay. It also created laws regarding child labor.
