    Phamplet of artciles intorduced that the states had the right to nullify federal laws in they deemed them unconsitutional.

    This was a Tariff that redduced its duties, but it still didnt satisfy South Carolina they still opposed tariffs.
  • Convention passing the Ordinance of Nullifciation

    This Ordinance deemed the tariffs unconstitutional and referred to the federal government that they would not pay the duties and threatened secession
  • Andrew Jacksons Proclamation

    In this Proclamation, Andrew Jackson imparted his opposing sentiments to the nullification, stating it interfered with the union of the Nation.
  • South Carolina mobilization of militias

    This was South Carolina showing their willingness to oppose the federal government, passing resolutions and forming a militia.

    The Force Act gave the right to the federal government to use force in the form of military power to enforce tariffs. The Compromise Tariff, primarily negotiated by Henry Clay, saw to the reduction of tariffs.
