    Printing and Word Doc Editing

We were introduced to basic word document editing for a short writing assignment in 1st grade. I distinctly recall the teacher instructing us on how to print our documents. I was not fully aware how the printing signal functioned because I repeatedly sent the print instruction without realizing I had printed my document over 20 times.
  • The Oregon Trail

    The Oregon Trail

In 4th grade, we were doing a history unit on the topic of American westward migration. One of the most memorable parts about this was the game "The Oregon Trail", which we all got to play in our school's computer lab. It was certainly a great change of pace for us students, especially at a time when video games were still not available universally.
  • Computer Lab Typing Practice

    Computer Lab Typing Practice

In elementary school, we practiced with our typing in fifth grade. This was done in a computer lab with one of those rubber pads occasionally placed over our keyboards to prevent us from seeing the keys. This unfortunately did not improve my typing. I would only graduate to "normal" typing sometime in high school.
  • Sketchup Software

    Sketchup Software

In 6th grade, one of our rotational "elective" options was for an electronic art class. This used a relatively new software at the time called "SketchUp", which allowed the user to create and manipulate various 3 dimensional objects.
  • Scientific Calculator

    Scientific Calculator

My parents first bought me a scientific calculator in 6th grade. The Ti-36 pro is a very powerful calculator and had many applications in my math and science classes through high school and college. Even now, I still make use of this exact calculator model when performing calculations.
  • LabQuest data collector

    LabQuest data collector

In 8th science class, we used a "LabQuest" device for data collection when we did various experiments such as with measuring the velocity of marbles moving along a track.
