The Seated Woman of Çatalhöyük is an 8000 year old Neolithic Art piece. It was unearthed in Çatalhöyük, an ancient city in southern Anatolia which existed approximately from 7100 BCE to 5700 BCE. It depicts a nude female seated between feline-headed arm-rests. It was first depicted as a fertile Mother Goddess in the process of giving birth. Now many scholars believe that it depicts elderly women who have risen to prominence and achieved status in Çatalhöyük.
