  • Plants vs. Zombies

    Plants vs. Zombies
I remember getting hooked on it when I was younger, figuring out the best plant combinations to stop the zombies from getting through. But what really impressed me wasn’t just the strategy—it was the whole vibe of the game. Even now, I still go back to it sometimes, just for the fun of it. There’s something really satisfying about setting up the perfect defense and watching it play out. PopCap Games. (2009). Plants vs. Zombies [Video game]. Electronic Arts.
  • Dino Run

    Dino Run
Dino Run is a game where you control a dinosaur running through various landscapes while avoiding obstacles. I played it with my sister when we were younger, often competing against each other. If I remember correctly, she was always much better than me. Even though I haven't played in a while, those competitive moments with her are fond memories, and I’m sure she’d still outperform me if we played again. PixelJAM. (2008). Dino Run [Video game]. PixelJAM Games.
  • Fireboy and Watergirl

    Fireboy and Watergirl
I enjoy playing this game with my sister. It’s a cooperative puzzle-platformer where both players must work together to navigate through levels, solve challenges, and avoid hazards. I always control Fireboy because I find the WASD keys for Watergirl tricky and confusing to use. It’s a fun and engaging game that strengthens our teamwork and creates great memories, deepening our bond. Oslo Albet. (2009). Fireboy and Watergirl [Video game]. Agame.
  • Chess

    Chess
Chess, a game of strategy and intellect, has been played for centuries, challenging players to think ahead and outmaneuver opponents. I discovered its appeal in my secondary school’s chess club and quickly improved, even defeating my cousin, a feat his dad couldn’t accomplish. Though I haven’t played in a while, I still appreciate the strategic depth and thrill of a well-matched game. Unknown, 6th century, Chess, board game.
  • PUBG: Battlegrounds

    PUBG: Battlegrounds
I discovered PUBG during the lockdown period, and it became the first shooter game I played with friends. It wasn’t just about gaming, it was a way for us to stay connected and have fun together. We even entered a school tournament, though we didn’t make it to the final rounds. Still, the experience was priceless, filled with teamwork, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Krafton. (2017). PUBG: Battlegrounds [Video game]. Krafton.
  • Rummikub

    Rummikub
I first found Rummikub complicated, but it got more interesting the more I played. I soon realized how much strategy goes into rearranging tiles and setting up the perfect move. It’s so satisfying to spot a play that shifts the board in your favor. Every game feels different depending on the tiles and how others play, making it an exciting mix of logic, luck, and a bit of risk-taking. Hertzano, E. (1977). Rummikub [Board game]. Lemada Light Industries.
  • Art Society

    Art Society
Art Society is a tile-placement and auction board game where players, as art connoisseurs, compete to build the most impressive gallery by bidding and strategically placing paintings. The thrill of outbidding rivals and making tactical decisions adds an exciting edge, and I find great satisfaction in seeing my collection come together, blending strategy with artistic vision. Wallace, M. (2023). Art Society [Board game]. Mighty Boards.
