Personal Identity Timeline for PPS

  • Identity trait- life

    Being alive is an important part of my identity and being born to my family surely impact them and my own identity.
  • Birth

    I was born September 17 2008 to my mom and dad and older sister in Chicago Illinois and I was born in Cook County Hospital
  • identity trait - caring

    With my sister's birth I had to provide a lot of care for her and now still look after her, this taught me to be caring.
  • Sister's birth

    My little sister was born March 10 2011 and became an additional member to my family being an integral part.
  • getting my dog -

    My dog Charlie is super important to me and has be like a big part of my life and when my family first got her she was terrible and would chew up the entire house, we used to put things like paprika on the corners of tables because she would chew on them. We hoped the spice would deter her but we really just seasoned it for her.
  • Dad buys me my first guitar -

    My dad bought me a guitar when I was about 10 years old and it was an acoustic ibanez guitar which I still have in my room and play, although it took me a while to start playing it still was very important to me.
  • Identity trait - patience

    Getting a dog brought a lot of issues and hardship but I learned to maintain my patience and not let myself become to upset with my dog
  • Identity trait - creativity

    I think getting my guitar played a role in developing my creativity in music which I use the same guitar to explore to this day.
  • Meeting my Middle School Social Studies teacher -

    My middle school social studies teacher Mr. Kinzie was extremely funny and kind and would have a bunch of different personalities like DJ Krazy K or Kiniziana Jones which I think has played a huge part in me wanting to become a teacher. Overall he was very silly and is one of my favorite teachers of all time.

    I feel like an important part of my identity is my want to educate and help others and I feel like Mr. Kinzie helped me discover that teaching could be fun.
  • Summer of 2023

    In this time between freshman and sophomore year I underwent a lot of changes, I had cut my long hair and began working out a lot and over that summer I lost about 30 pounds. This transformation restored a lot of confidence in my self.
  • Attending Taft

    Coming to Taft was a huge change for life, I had never gone to a different school and was so used to my comfortable environment at Hitch. Coming here changed a lot about me and I saw and met a lot of new and important people to me
  • Identity trait courage

    I was afraid to attend Taft and leave me middle school but I took learning courage to overcome my fear
  • Identity trait - dedication

    That summer I worked incredibly hard and I learned the value of dedication
  • Ravinia Jazz Scholars

    This was a program I joined shortly after I joined my school jazz ensemble and has been one of the most difficult things I have ever done. Through this program I have pushed my playing a lot and has developed a strong work ethic in my identity and is still playing a role in shaping me as a musician in my second year with them.

    Although I struggled in marching band camp I persevered not giving up teach me that skill
  • Joined Jazz Ensemble

    I joined just last year the jazz ensemble but already it has changed a lot of my life and I have become deeply involved in music at Taft playing electric and upright bass and recently saxophone.
  • First Marching Band Camp

    When I first involved my self in band at Taft I joined the marching band, I played electric bass in the front ensemble and still currently do. However my first ever rehearsal went terribly for me and I cried when I got home. But that day I also practiced for 4 hours straight and kept trying my hardest and now I feel comfortable and enjoy marching band.
