A theme in this time period was resilience. After World War I and now World War II. Pictures were mostly taken with things that had to do with war or families of war reuniting or being sent away again. With improvements in color this became a trend of trying to get pictures in color. The styles were the black and white photos, as well as experimenting with color, and portraits as well. The most popular subjects were people specifically women. Men were also photographed just not as much. -
Photography in the 1960's
Some of the themes associated with photography during this time period were freedom, peace, and love. A trend was portraits. There were lots of portraits being taken as well as people together. there were people taking pictures of themselves in very bright vibrant clothing with friends or family. The styles you see the most are the portraits or pictures of other people. Going along with what I was talking about with the trends the most common subjects were people doing everyday things. -
Photography in the 1980's
One theme was happiness and joy. they expressed this in many ways one way was the bright neon colors they wore in their clothing. One trend in the 1980's was people using their work to make fun of or try and tell people through art about cultural and societal issues. I would say some styles of photography that were popular would be the street, portrait, and fashion photography. The most photographed subject were people in bright clothing and people during protests and stuff like that. -
Modern Day Photography
A theme I think is in photography in our modern day would probably be sustainability and how we should be treating our earth/planet. I tend to see those the most. I think the trend that is the most relevant right now would probably be the AI photography that people are using. as well as the outdoor pictures. the most relevant styles I see now are landscape photos or things in nature as well as Travel photography. In our modern world there are thousands of subject's people take pictures of.
