Kozani is a big city with areas where refugees can stay.If we follow the example of Tilos, where the population was half and a thousand people they supported succesfully 70 refugees. So in a city like Kozani where the population is around 42.000 people maybe we should be able to host succesfully 3.000 to 4.000 refugees. -
Refugees can stay in hotels and paying the half of the price with their monthly allowance,or during the summer, when the weather is more suitable and not rainy, they can stay in refugee camps. Moreover they can stay in sportcenter, when there's no trainings. There are also many benefits of staying in sportceneter for example it is warm regardless the weather conditions and there's elecrtricity and water. Lastly nice idea would be to rebuild abandoned houses as for example ksenias an old hotel-cafe. -
As a community we can help refugees to find jobs and feel part of society. Woman can be employed in house cleaning, work as waitresses in restaurants or other local shops ,work in small businesses, and lastly cleaning schools and hotels. Men can work in farms the area's main business, in construction, or as gardeners. But additionally we can also volunteer our own skills, like cooking or sewing something for them. This way, we all can help make them feel welcome and create a strong community. -
My school can help refugees in many ways. Both students and teachers can collect food, old clothes and toys to donate. We can also help them learn Greek, support children with lessons but also help them communicate with shops owners.Furthermore refugees can be invited to help in farming which is the mainstay of our city's economy. The school can also organize a charity bazaar or a school ball to raise money and bring everyone together and also make the teenage refugees fell welcome and no different. -
