    He was born in Caprese near to Florence ,where the family moved a few weeks later.

    He was apprenticed to the painter Domenico Ghirlandaio and then he lived in the household of Lorenzo de Medici.

    After the Medici were expelled from Florence,he travelled to Bologna and then,in 1496,to Rome.

    The statue of Moses

    The statue of Moses
    Pop Julius the 2d invites him to Rome in order for him to design Julius' own tomb. The project was never completed although he created a statue of Moses for the tomb.
