    Your FAFSA will need your parent/guardian's taxes from TWO years prior (meaning your FAFSA for the 2025-2026 academic year will require your parent/guardian's 2023 federal income tax return, also known as the IRS 1040). Make sure you get this information before the FAFSA opens in October!

    Submit the CSS Profile (if necessary)

    Depending on your institution, you may have to submit/update your CSS profile. Make sure you keep an eye on your email, check the CSS website https://cssprofile.collegeboard.org/, or talk with your financial aid office! You will need tax information similar to your FAFSA.

    Renew NYS TAP

    If you are attending school in NYS, make sure you renew your NYS TAP. Like the FAFSA and CSS profile, this information will need your parent/guardian's tax information.
