    Navigation Acts

    The Navigation Acts were a set of rules set on the colonists that made them sell their raw materials to England, even if they can get better prices elsewhere. At first, the colonists didn't mind this law, as it gave them guaranteed customers for their stuff. However, as time went on, the colonists became angry at the law as it limited their trading freedom and economy.
  • Molasses Act

    Molasses Act

    A British Law from the Parliament that taxed all sugar, molasses, and rum imported into the colonies.
  • Fort Necessity

    Fort Necessity

    Fort Necessity was a small outpost set up at Fort Duquesne meant for a small Virginian militia that was led by George Washington. Unfortunately, the French and the Natives quickly drove them out of the area and destroyed the fort.
  • French & Indian War (7 Year War)

    French & Indian War (7 Year War)

    A war fought mainly between the British and french territories in North America (but in other areas where they were close together to) for control over Canada and the Ohio river valley. The British won the war and gained Canada and the Ohio river valley.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act

    A law from the parliament that lowered tax on molasses to encourage people to buy British goods and stop smuggling. This law also allowed officers to seize smugglers' goods without going to court.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was a small tax on printed goods, such as newspapers, wills, playing cards, and documents. The Stamp Act enraged colonists, and people boycotted British goods, until the act was repealed in 1766.
  • Declaratory Acts

    Declaratory Acts

    The Declaratory Acts are a set of laws that state that the British Parliament is allowed to tax the colonists whenever they want, no matter what. This most likely infuriated the colonists as this furthered the claim that they didn't have a say in how they are taxed.
