    I remember being taken to our library on campus and using the computers to research different topics from history to geography. We learned how to use google, how to stay away from Wikipedia, and a very simple way to compile a works cited.

    In 7th grade I took a typing class. I specifically remember using the Mavis Beacon curriculum and really enjoying it! I never felt like I was a very fast typer at the time, but after so many years of being on the computer I am glad I took the class!

    I remember being given cameras with video recording capabilities and using IMovie to edit videos for class. These were skits and required very little editing skills, but still fun to play around with! You can imagine the amount of transitions...
  • 9th Grade: 1-to-1 IPad Program

    I was the first class at my high school to inaugurate the 1-to-1 IPad program, in which each student was required to have an IPad. We used these throughout our 4 years of secondary school.

    I learned to use the education management program Schoology to submit, complete, and view assignments. While I enjoyed it at the time, I later found that systems like Canvas were far more intuitive and user friendly.
  • High School: Gamified Classes

    High School: Gamified Classes

    Throughout high school my teachers used programs like Kahoot! and Quizlet to "Gamify" the class. I enjoyed these programs, but learned that they are a lot of work on the teachers end! Especially when it comes to math.
