Starting in second grade I remember teachers wheeling in a projecting to go over worksheets in front of the whole class -
Starting around 4th grade we started having the computer 'special' which mean we got to go to the computer lab and learn how to use things like Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. -
In Middle School we still had the computer special, but we would focus heavily on on typing skills and we would take typing tests in which we had to cover our keyboards. -
I remember that in 8th grade it was a huge deal that our school was able to purchase maybe 20 surface laptops, and one of our teachers could sign-up to have the cart brought to us to use. -
Starting in high school, we were required to have our own personal laptops and bring them to every class. Our textbooks were all online and the switch from using all Microsoft products like word, excel and powerpoint, to using more Google docs, slides and sheets started. -
In my Junior year I took a robotics course where I learned the basics of coding.
