    Overhead Projector Implemented

Second grade is the first I remember of using an overhead projector to display the content from the teachers page. Prior we had used white boards, with no technology within the classroom other than a teacher having a desk top, which maybe my first grade teacher had but not my kindergarten.
  • Computer Lab Built

    Computer Lab Built

I remember in second grade my school had a computer lab implemented it. It was very exciting for all of us, and that year we took a typing course. Unfortunately it did not stick, and soon the typing lessons became irrelevant and not a priority to the teachers. We stilled used the lab every so often to practice typing or on a need basis.
  • Smart Boards in Classroom

    Smart Boards in Classroom

I believe third grade is when we all had smart boards in our classroom, if not fourth grade. This was very exciting and interactive for us as students. We could draw on the board and the teacher could use far more resources and tools. I believe this is around the time, and one if the initiatives, that my generation became normalized to technology in our every day lives.
  • Brain Pop

    Brain Pop

Brain Pop because a tool many teachers used to help connect with the students in an engaging way. I grew to love Moby and was always very exciting when we watched the videos. I remember them being informative and exciting for us as young students who only got technology in bits and pieces at this time.
  • Cool Math Games

    Cool Math Games

Cool math games became a popular platform in my fifth grade class. This was a fun advancement to a subject that was rather daunting for many of us. We looked forward to the time we were allowed to use cool math games, we all had our favorites and occasionally it would be a homework assignment. Still, many of us only accessed technology via computer in the classroom or the computer lab.
  • Chicks in an Incubator

    Chicks in an Incubator

I remember fondly that in the spring of my fourth grade year we got chick eggs to watch grow. They were in an incubator that we were able to observe and learn about the different stage of an egg, and when they hatched we had them in the classroom for a few weeks. I would consider the existence of an incubator to be technology in our classroom, combining fun and technology for us as students.
