During the time of 1931, everywhere around the globe was hit by the great depression. Germany and Austria and Germany were affected the most because were still recovering from world war 1. (These circumstances may have helped Hitler take over Germany) -
Because of the great depression, people cannot afford housing anymore. So, people decide to resort to moving to a hooverville. A hooverville is a shanty town made by those who are unemployed. The term "Hooverville" is jokingly named after the US president at their time: Herbert Hoover who failed to help ease the crisis at the time. -
Since the great depression was happening during the time Adolf Hitler tried to become Chancellor, he tried used as much manipulation as possible to become a Chancellor. He was then approved because President Paul von Hidenburg thought he could be controlled, others thought Hitler would solve the economic crisis. -
All around the USA and Canada is when extreme drought begins. This causes crops to dry out or be destroyed from the extreme. The wind makes the dry soil around it into a dust storm and foods is too difficult to produce. -
Hitler decides to invade Poland. This caused Poland to call allies like Britain and France to aid them in this war. To compensate, Nazi Germany gets their allies to help fight the war and world war 2 starts.
