Hernán Cortés and around 500 soldiers and 100 sailors sail from Cuba, reaching the coast of what is now the Mexican state of Tabasco. -
He enters Tenochtitlán, where Montezuma greets him with great honor. -
He goes to fight a rival Spanish force, which gives Pedro de Alvarado the capital. When he returns, he finds Tenochtitlán surrounded. -
While in Spanish custody, Montezuma gets murdered. -
Cortés tries to kick out the Spanish, but the capital ends up falling into their hands, causing the end of the Aztec Empire.
