I was born in Chicago, IL and I am the youngest sibling of 4. I'm the only one with a summer birthday between me and my sisters. Something my mom always taught me was to treat others the way you'd want to be treated and I stand by that everyday, I gained the trait of being empathetic. -
My school was a lottery system school in which I was lucky enough to go since all my sisters went, my attendance was automatic. This school prepared me for meeting new people and being open minded. They taught 5 different languages and were one of the top diverse schools in the city. I got to meet people from many different cultures and had a lot of fun there. -
This may have been my second or third time but it was different this time because I got to travel with my cousin who is my day one. We had a lot of fun and are hoping to recreate those memories. I am always excited to travel because I loved the plane rides and seeing family from other states and countries. I care very deeply about my family. -
COVID happened and everyone had to quarantine. I really hated these times because I usually like being outside and hanging out with family and friends. I think the pandemic influenced any addiction to screens. I didn't like using my phone or playing games all day so I got creative and started to paint a lot. -
My oldest sister already had her own place so it was just my second and third oldest to hang around with. Then my second oldest went to college and I surprisingly missed her a lot considering we were always the ones fighting. This event helped me gain the trait of always being appreciative of my loved ones. -
This was the second quince I was a part of, after this I was in 4 more. They were all my close cousins and it was just a really fun time because the quinces were back to back, we got to spend a lot of time together as well as help the quinceaneras get prepared for their special day. Unfortunately I was not able to have one of my own, during this time I made sure to stay supportive no matter what. -
This was an exciting time for me because I was entering high school with my day one cousin who I went to Disney with, my sister, and 4 more cousins. I was excited to be with them during school. A trait that I will always carry is loyalty to my loved ones because I came into school knowing that no matter what, they are my family and I will always be there for them. -
I joined the lacrosse team without having any prior knowledge, I knew I wanted to be a goalie in some sport. I took a risk and ended up being a really good goalie. I decided on lacrosse because it was something new and also convenient since my cousin and their girlfriend were lacrosse Taft alumni and became the coaches. -
We got runner ups for the city the championships, its the farthest Taft's girls lacrosse team as gone. I got on the CPS all conference team, and got an MVP award. I found some issues during the season like frequent headaches and nosebleeds and I ended up getting a potential concussion. -
The concussion had me worrying about whether or not I could play in my junior year and considering how far I got with only being a sophomore I knew I could go further. Along with this, I had recently gone through a rough patch with my parents which took a tole on me but I was able to get myself back up and continue my journey.
