    this was a disaster that happened in the 1950s due to the Chisso Corporation that was releasing methyl mercury into Minamata bays ecosystem. The Minamata bay has been seen as a global symbol of pollution from when the mercury that had been dumped into the bay started to poison the aquatic food chain.

    the endangered species act started in dec 28, 1973. The purpose of this was to establish protection for wildlife that have been listed as in danger or threatened. It also lists ways to start to help with he endangered species recovery and issuing permits for some prohibited activities. This helped us protect our environment and keep our wildlife from going extinct.

    : this was a book published on September 27, 1963 that was spreading information on how DDT was causing damage to wildlife and even domestic pets. The purpose of this book was to try to change how some liberal and democratic societies worked and how governments can do to help the environment.

    this event happened in June 1972. This was a conference on the human environment. They started talking about how they would start to industrialize and developing countries were affecting the amount of pollution in our atmosphere and the well-being of the people living in it. They put in place the action plan that was supposed to help numerous activities that would help create the United Nations Environment Program.

    this happened in 1979. In 1920 it became a industrial chemical dumpsite leading. It was later sold and had around 100 houses and even a school was built on top of the dump site. The ground started to explode because of a record amount of rainfall. This had a significant impact of all nature that was in the area and led to birth defects of long term residents. The area as later evacuated and should be seen as a warning to everyone to properly dispose of chemicals.

    it took place on December 3, 1984. This was a disaster where a=over 40 tons of methyl isocyanate gas had somehow leaked from a pesticide plant. This disaster had killed 3,800 people almost immediately and caused lots of premature death for many others. There were lots of long-term health problems that stemmed from this disaster. Because of this disaster India had a rabid industrialization and good changes withing there government.
