ipstick and nail polish were sold in matching sets and women drew a line around there natural lipshape before applying llpstick to fake a plumper look. Lipstick was often used as a rouge as well. There wasn't much eyeliner used, and mascara was still in a 'cake' form. -

The 1950s placed a strong emphasis on achieving flawless, porcelain-like skin. The iconic look included a matte complexion with a velvety finish. Women often used foundation, powder, and concealer to create a smooth base, giving them an immaculate appearance. -

So early 60s makeup brought in the black winged liner of the 50s, as well as the popular late 50s frosted eye shadows and coral lips. Hair, makeup and fashion were still very ladylike, inspired by women like Jackie Kennedy and Ann Margret. By the mid 60s, lips were often light, almost white beige. 60s makeup was all about colour and drama. -

In the 1970's, thin became the new ideal body image. Women were encouraged to lose all their extra body fat and to lose the curves and large chest. Some women became dangerously thin in order to fit into the modern society. Hair was worn long and makeup was worn minimally in order to achieve a natural face. -

Beauty consisted around the fitness and nutrition craze in the 80s, encouraging athletically toned bodies, bodysuits, and tracksuit bottoms. Supermodel and bodybuilding became a sensation, along with leg warmers and big hair. -
1990s cosmetology
The 1990s ushered in an era of waifish, extremely thin women, and androgny became popular once more. Kate Moss, a famous model during this time, embodied a look known as "Heroin Chic," with a pale skin, dark circles under the eyes, angular bone structure, and a withdrawn, almost abandoned look. -

n the 2000s, being extremely thin was the standard being set and the fashion was designed to cater to those with thin bodies. Jeans that used to ride well below the hip bones paired with crop tops that stopped mid-ribcage were common staples on thin celebrities. -
