    It was common for women to wear corsets, long skirts, and often hold umbrellas. Men wore suits. Both usually wore gloves and hats.

    Tunics and hobble skirts were common. The most popular silhouette throughout the decade was the tunic over a long underskirt. Full, hip-length "lampshade" tunics were worn over narrow, draped skirts.

    The "Flapper style" was very popular during this time. Flapper women chopped off their hair into a short, almost masculine style. They wore short, loose fitting dresses, and they wore small hats like cloches.

    Women would wear bias cut evening gowns in liquid satins and silks, tweed suits, flounces and frills and cute berets or tilt hats.

    Y2K trends were worn daily, but most of these looks were reserved for going out. Popular outfits for women included mesh or handkerchief tops, box-pleated or leather skirts, shiny pants, and sparkly shoes. For men, Y2K looks usually involved leather jackets, a statement dress shirt, and chunky shoes.
