    This battle took place in central grace at the mountain pass of Thermopylae. It was a battle between the Greeks and the Persians. The Greeks where betrayed in the battle and the Persians where able to flank them and end up sending the main army into a retreat. and this was before the major two wars that happens between the Spartans and the Persians and it really just the start of the fighting between them for years to come.

    Athenian general Cimon defeats Spartan general Pausanias and takes Byzantium.
    The general of the Athenian army defeated and pushed spartan troops out of Byzantium. byzantium is located in the northern part of Greece, in present day turkey. Later in time it was a good spot to hold off the persians

    Sparta experienced a massive earthquake that ended around 20,000 people and destroyed most of the architecture. this gave way to a slave revolt in Sparta not only because the Spartans where weekend from the earthquake but because they had to focused on rebuilding. the Spartans also went to Athens to ask for help and they dismissed them putting more tension between them.

    This was the start of the 15 year conflict between Sparta and Athens. the Spartans were fighting to free states from the athenians because they thought that they were forced to be under their control. The athenas banded together to protect themselves from the Persians.

    Sparta wins the battle of Tanagra
    Sparta had 11,500 troops and Athens had 14,000. there was major casualties on both sides but Sparta ended up winning the fight. though there is no details about this battle we do know that the Athens had help of 1,000 argos and Sparta had 1,500 Spartans with 10,000 hoplites.

    Sparta and Argos sign a peace treaty
    this is the peace treaty that ends the first Peloponnesian war. Sparta and Athens both came together after all the fighting and signed this treaty. It lasted around 30 years and was intended to prevent another war from starting.

    the Athens gained lots of wealth and resorson Dering there time of peace.Then the Athens attacked potidaea, which was listed as an ally but also a colline. this prompted the Spartans to declare that the Athens had broken the peace treaty because they attacked so they declared war.

    this war was the war between Sparta and Athens along with all of their allies. this war involved almost all of grease. the Athens where mostly all island and coastal parts of grease and Sparta was mostly land powers and the inner parts of grease.

    this is a battle of the combine forces of Sparta attacking the city of platana. the platana asked for help form the Athens and they got some troops and reinforcements. this fight lasted 2 years and ended with Sparta's victory.

    this is the ending point to the plataea seage. the plataea asked for help from the Athens but ended up getting defeated. when they wanted to surrender Sparta promised them a fair trial but when they did take control they judged that they never did anything for Sparta and put all 200 including 25 Athens to death.

    Sparta take the town of amphipolis from Thucydides. by doing that proves that he had failed to protect his town from attack and thus he was exiled. than after the Athens tried to take it back but the same general who took it held them off and protected there new town from being taken back.

    bracidas was a very important general and contributed a lot to the war until he died. his successes tilted the balance of the war. in the battle of amphipolis he was wounded and ended up dying after that.

    Sparta is excluded from the Olympic Games for breaking the ekecheiria or sacred truce.
    The Olympics started in ancient grease to prove who in grease was the best at a certain thing. the ekecheiria or sacred truce was a truce made with all states of grease saying that for seven days before the olympics all the way to seven days after that there would be no fighting. Sparta decided to fight in that time span so they where disqualified form the games and could not complete that time around.

    Mantinea usually suporta and sides with Sparta but for this they were on the Athens side. they got defeated right away by the Spartans. the picture shows there battle plan and how they decided to take over.

    rhodes was allied with Athens for the war up to this point. that they revolt and switch to Sparta's side. than ended up freeing themselves from the Spartans to become a democracy.

    with pershan money the Spartans build a big fleet. this turned the tied of the war because the Athens where mainly water based. this gave the Spartans the edge they needed to win the war thus the Spartans beat the Athens and won the war.

    they start a new war but the persians where more involved with this one. the Athens where wining for the most part with the help of the persians. than the Persians decided to help Sparta ultimately giving them the victory and winning the war.

    this battle was mostly fought to protect the thieves and it worked because they won. there was nothing super big about this war other than Sparta loosing after being in a bunch of wars and being a very aggressive state.

    thebes was under the control of sparta and didn't want to be because they where being oppressed. they started a revolt and managed to repel the spartan troops.

    the Celtic was a group that helped the Thebes get there freedom form Sparta. the way they defeated them was by sending all of there forces in the right wing. after they broke into that spot they just destroyed them form the inside.
