    The Deceleration Of Independence was a very important document. It fully announced the 13 colonies would now be separate from Great Britain and lead to the establishment of the United States.
  • Battle of Princeton

    Battle of Princeton
    Army soldiers who were under the command of George Washington defeated a force of British Soldiers. This occured in Princeton, New Jersey, and was part of an action to regain control after a string of defeats in the New York Area.
  • French Alliance

    French Alliance
    The French Alliance was a financial and military agreement between the U.S. and France to fight against Great Britain. It was formalized by the Treaty of Alliance and the Treaty of Amity.
  • The Adoption Of United States Constitution

    The Adoption Of United States Constitution
    The United States Constitution was adopted on September 17th, 1787. It was created to protect the rights of citizens while also being strong enough to act on a national level. The Constitution replaced the articles of Confederation.

    The Bill of rights was the first 10 amendments to the constitution. It guaranteed citizens rights In relation to their government. Some examples include freedom of speech, press, and religion.

    The Monroe Doctrine is a policy created by James Monroe in 1823 that emphasized how the United States would function in the Western Hemisphere. It also stated its relationship to European Powers and made it where the United States would not interfere in European affairs.

    The Louisiana Purchase of 1812
    The Louisiana purchase was on April 30th, 1803. The United States purchased 828,000 square miles of land from the French for 15 million dollars. This purchase nearly doubled the size of the United States and expanded the nation westward.

    Indian Removal Act
    The Indian Removal Act was an act created that granted the President the right to remove Native American tribes from their homelands and relocate them to unsettled lands west of the Mississippi river. The act reduced the native population in the East from over 100,000 to around 15,000. This act also lead to the well known "Trail of Tears."

    Texas Revolution
    The Texas Revolution resulted in Texas gaining independence from Mexico in 1836.The Texas Revolution was between Texas Colonist and Mexico and Texas eventually won leading to the Republic of Texas being created.
  • Kansas Nebraska Act

    Kansas Nebraska Act
    The Kansas Nebraska Act repealed the Missouri compromise, creating two new territories and allowing for popular sovereignty. It overall created Kansas and Nebraska as separate territories. This act led to the reopening of the National debate over slavery in western territories and increased tensions between the North and the South.
