Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand
On June 28, 1914, Frans Ferdinands assassination at the hand of a Serbian terrorist group the "Black Hand", led to the beginning of World War 1. Archduke Franz Ferdinand visits Bosnia and decides to drive around Sarajevo when his wife and himself were assassinated by Bosnian Serb. -
Eastern Front
Eastern Front was mainly fought between Russia and Germany. The Russian army was under pared and went into war with very little training. -
WW1 Homefront
Rationing made sure everyone in the country got food. During WW1 sugar, meat, butter, and milk was rationed. Womans life changed a lot due to men going to war. -
Somme
British launched attack in Somme River to pull German troops away from Verdun. British suffered nearly 19,000 casualties and both sides lost great number of troops. At the end of the 5-month battle over 1 million casualties on both sides -

Propaganda is information or ideas that spread to influence people. Propaganda uses name calling, band wagon, plain folks, and glitteriest. -
WW1 Trench Warfare
Types of fighting during World War 1, both sides dug trench's protected by mines and bulked wire. Trench Warfare was a protective defense so soldiers cannot get killed as easily. Communication trenches were to transport men, equipment, and food supplies. -
America enters WW1
Russia withdrew from war 1917. There was no longer anymore eastern front. In March of 1918 they lanced the assault. -
Paris peace conference
Palace of Versailles outside of Paris representatives from over 30 countries present. President Orlando wanted secret treaties to be honored. -
The treaty
The United States left the conference leaving the peace settlement to France and Britian. -
Armistice
Added a new nation to the new map. Europe was devastated after WW1 and millions of dollar damages.
