    Oklahoma City Bombing
    The Oklahoma City bombing was a domestic terrorist attack that occurred in the aforementioned city and state. The bomb would be a homemade fertilizer bomb that was infused with diesel to cause as much damage as it did. The perpetrators, Tim McVay and Terry Nichols, held a high anti-government sentiment that would lead them to such an act. This event was crucial to US history as it showed how brutal terror attacks could be and how it unified a city and group of people for the wrong cause.

    Norm Macdonald Being Kicked off SNL
    Norm Macdonald was a famous American comedian who was prominently featured on SNL's The Weekend Update. After the verdict of the OJ Simpson trial, Norm would go on to feature many comedy bits making fun of the verdict as he believed that O.J. most definitely did it. Norm Macdonald would then go on a solo run for his comedy, and because of the firing, he would become more unhinged. Norm's firing was a crucial event in US history as it showed how one could be fired for voicing the truth.

    President Bill Clinton would be tried for impeachment for lying under oath about his relations with Monica Lewinsky. Their relationship would last over 3 years and would lead to this trial because President Clinton would claim that he did not have any sexual relations with the woman. Clinton would be found to have had sexual relations with that woman and would be found to have left Hillary out of them. It would be influential for US history as our presidents aren't as holy as we may perceive.

    Presidential election of 2000
    Democratic candidate Al Gore would run against George Bush for the presidency, and it would be so close that the election couldn't be called for some time. The election would come down to the state of Florida, where the race would be so close it would still go to the Supreme Court. The Court would rule 5 to 4 in favor of Bush, but the election would be tainted with false vote accusations thanks to the hanging chads.Would be influential because of the many controversies of Bush and his Presidency

    Terrorist Attack of 9/11
    On September 11, 2001, 4 planes were hijacked that would be targeted at buildings crucial to America's infrastructure, including the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the white house. The 2 planes that would hit the World Trade Center would cause massive destruction and death to the citizens of NYC. This event would lead to the war on terror going into full swing, along with the TSA being implemented and global security changes. Would also lead to my Uncle getting Cancer! Super cool! Satire

    2002 Axis of Evil
    President Bush would give a state of the union address where he would define Americas Enemy as the "Axis of Evil" (Kruse and Zelizer, 260?). This would be a massive speech for the American people as it would define the kind of conflicts the U.S would be entering. Bush would establish the enemies of the U.S to be Hussein and those who held "Weapons of Mass Destruction" or WMD's (Kruse and Zelizer, 262). Would be significant as it determined the US's enemies and what we were targeting.

    Hurricane Katrina
    Hurricane Katrina would hit the south eastern US with massive damages to New Orleans. President Bush would be criticized for not reacting in a timely manner to the event as he was on vacation. Bush would do a flyover though to raise morale! Katrina would cause an estimates 108 billion dollars in damages and cause 1833 casualties (Kruse and Zelizer, 280). This would be significant as it would ruin the area of N.O and show how weak the head of FEMA at the time was.

    Kanye West would drop his first album the College Drop Out in the year 2004. West would then grow to massive fame after the success of his later albums and the success of his first drop. West would go on to have a rise to stardom unlike many other musicians he would go onto make good music for a good amount of time before turning into a Anti Semite on twitter. West would be massively influential on American media culture along with music culture as a whole.

    Death of Layne Staley
    Layne Staley was the lead singer of the grunge rock band Alice in Chains, who would tragically pass away on April 5th, 2005. Layne would die from a drug overdose similar to the early deaths of various stars in the grunge rock scene. Layne was a prominent figure in the grunge scene, and his death would cause many to see the impact of the drugs that these singers and performers were taking. Stayley's death was influential in US history as Alice in Chains would not make any new good records after
  • The first iPhone

    The first iPhone
    The release of the first iPhone would happen in the summer of 2007. This would mark the shift towards smartphones from BlackBerrys and other simple handheld phones. This would also cement Apple as the front runner in the technology marketplace, which would lead to their constant production of new and innovative products. Although the new and innovative products would come for some time, they would fail to continue in the late 2020s. Led to Apple culture in America that plagues wallets.

    Deepwater Horizon
    The Deepwater Horizon crisis was a devastating oil spill that occurred off the Gulf of Mexico. The oil would plume out into the ocean, killing the local ecosystem and affecting states that rely on tourists for income or the sea for food, such as Louisiana and Mississippi. Later, it would be revealed that the company BP had been ignoring citations for safety and protocol. It would be significant in US history as it would show how much damage could be done to the environment through oil.

    The New York Jets would play the New England Patriots in this great Thanksgiving Day football game. The New York Jets, coached by Rex Ryan, would do what the Jets do best and ruin my hopes and dreams of having a good team to root for. Mark Sanchez would run into his offensive line and proceed to fumble on the rear end of the offensive linemen. This event is significant for US history as it would set a precedent for the NYJ and how god awful they would be and how many fans they would kill.

    Death of Robin Williams
    Robin Williams was a prolific actor and comedian within the American media. Williams would be loved for his performances in various films such as Dead Poets Society, Jumanji, and Aladdin. Williams would take his own life on August 11, 2014, by hanging himself. William's death would be a stand-out case in Hollywood and the American media scene because a man who produced so much joy within other people took his own life. It would lead to more suicide awareness within the states.
