Five years after graduating from high school, I decided to go back to school for nursing. However, the administration personnel discouraged me by stating that the entrance exam was very difficult and had limited seating. I was talked into choosing a second major, and I chose Business Administration.

After enrolling and attending classes, I realized I had made a mistake and should have looked at my options. However, after careful consideration, I realized I needed to earn my degree, or I would be left paying for my school loans without a degree. Therefore, I earned my degree, but did not attend the graduation ceremony.

Fall of 2013, the same year I completed my associated degree in business I started taking my general ed courses for the nursing program at the local community college.

Got engaged to my best friend

I was accepted to CBU, but was asked to take additional courses for the nursing program, and to select a second major in case I was not offered a seat in the nursing program. Afraid of what occurred to me in 2011, I decided not to pursue my nursing degree with CBU.

I graduated from MSJC with two associates, took me 6 years. I was working full-time and classes were impacted.

Due to nursing programs being impacted in California, I decided to apply to Missouri State University. After careful consideration, I chose not to move out of state. The pandemic occurred later that year, and I was happy I did not move out of state.

I volunteered at Kaiser to complete the community hours required for enrollment at MSJC nursing program.

Got married. Our wedding was postponed due to the pandemic.
