I was able to start using computers for the first time when I was in 5th grade. This allowed me to type my essays and publish them to the class.

We did a lot more typing in 6th grade for ELA course. Our teacher would make us resubmit our essays so many times until she felt it was an A. I felt that my typing got so much faster because of so many essays we had to write.

I got my first computer donated by East Side Heroes. I either had to do my work at the computer lab at my high school or I would have to type it at home. It saved so much time from having to stay at the library for a long time. I remember playing a lot of solitaire on it and downloading music to hear my music while I do my work.

I was able to get my first phone when I was in my senior year in high school. Before that I would have to communicate with friends and families through a phone line. The cell phone provided so much freedom in terms of setting up events and being able to meet up with people.

When I was in my first year at San Jose State University my friend sold me his old HP laptop and this provided me with the opportunity to have access to all my school work. I was also able to set up social media accounts and stay connected with classmates from my previous high school. Having the laptop saved me from having to type all my essays at home.

The school where I work provides us with a Macbook that we can use in order to educate our students through so many different programs. I can now say that I use my computer for the classes I teach every single day.
